The EDON Story
In 1963, one frustrated foreman was responsible for starting a very revolutionary trend in construction. For days at the Rossmoor Leisure World site in Cranbury, New Jersey, bricklayers, sheet metal trimmers, roofers, painters, carpenters, masons and laborers had been working at building and installing chimneys on what was then to be the largest retirement community on the East Coast. The problems encountered were predictable, “too many man- hours – over budget”. Ed Axel, Edon’s founder had the answer. Soon thereafter that same foreman was watching chimneys being installed in 20 minutes…by just two people. Furthermore, they fit every time, are completely impervious to weather and will last as long as the dwellings to which they now belong. Fiberglass and prefabrication have made the difference.
EDON Composites
Today, Edon remains the nation’s largest custom fabricator of architectural fiberglass, with built projects in all 50 states. Since 2018, Edon has been led by an augmented leadership team and a revived commitment to innovative fabrication methods and materials. All of our products are still fabricated in the United States at our 58,000 SF facility just north of Philadelphia, PA.
