Project Profile
At 632 feet, the Bank of America building in Charlotte, NC is the first tower in the Legacy Union project – a planned multi-use site now in the latter stages of its first phase of development. The tower is the 4th tallest building in Charlotte.
This fantastic new addition to the city’s skyline boasts an impressive crowning pyramid, envisioned and designed by the Charlotte office of LS3P Associates. LS3P specified FRP panels as decorative elements to enhance the presentation of the base of the pyramid, while the sub-contractor, Precision Walls of Cary, NC turned to Edon Composites to help design and ultimately fabricate 392 panels under a very tight time-constraint. The panels vary in size, but the largest exhibits a surface area of 52” x 120.” When combined the Edon FRP panels form the 40’ tall custom shapes that surround the base of the Bank of America pyramid.
